In addition to the things most film offices do -- free locations scouting, directories, permitting assistance and the like -- the Greater Cleveland Film Commission works to cut costs for producers and go above and beyond to provide an excellent environment for filming.
The Greater Cleveland Film Commission serves as a One Stop Shop for filmmakers, providing access to a local municipalities, private properties and more. The Greater Cleveland Film Commission is not only a central point for permitting and assistance with Federal, state, regional and local governmental agencies, we also have close relationships with many property owners in downtown Cleveland that can assist producers in location control.
The northern Ohio area has an active independent filmmaking community. Please contact our office if we can assist your film.
Permits
Most permits have a nominal fee. For example, the City of Cleveland charges $20 for a permit per street for the duration of your shoot. Permits are required for obstructing the public right-of-way. Please either submit a Permit Form online or contact our office if you require a permit for northern Ohio.
We encourage you to register yourself on our website in the Crew section. Many times, UPMs or Line Producers search the listing for potential local crew, so be sure to keep your information up to date with us. We host quarterly Media Industry Mixers to keep people connected (details are included in our e-newsletter and on this site).
Please register your business under the Vendor section on our website if you are interested in working with the production industry. There is no cost to list your business and we encourage you to update your listing with any new products or services you are able to offer.
We encourage you to network if you are interested in getting involved in the film industry. We host quarterly Media Industry Mixers throughout the year, which are always listed on our website and in our e-newsletter, which you can sign up for on this page.
