ANCHOR BAY FILMS TO DISTRIBUTE ROBERT HALL’S FEATURE FEAR CLINIC

Robert Englund, Fiona Dourif, Thomas Dekker, Corey Taylor, Kevin Gage, Cleopatra Coleman and Angelina Armani Star

SUNDANCE, UTAH –– Anchor Bay Films announced today it has acquired all rights, including theatrical, VOD, digital and home entertainment, to Robert Hall’s latest film Fear ClinicFear Clinic began as a 2009 horror series on FEARnet and quickly garnered critical acclaim, earning two Streamy Awards.  Produced by Fear Chamber Productions, Dry County Entertainment, the company founded by director Hall (MTV’s “Teen Wolf”, Laid to Rest, Lightning Bug) and The Movie Machine, Fear Clinic will be released in late 2014.   Anchor Bay Entertainment President, Bill Clark, made today’s announcement.

Robert Englund (A Nightmare on Elm Street) stars as Dr. Andover, a fear doctor who attempts to cure patients suffering from crippling phobias by placing them inside his exposure therapy invention, The Fear Chamber, where he induces and controls hallucinations.  Co-stars include Fiona Dourif (Curse of Chucky, The Master), Thomas Dekker (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, A Nightmare on Elm Street), Kevin Gage (Laid to Rest, Blow), Cleopatra Coleman (Step Up Revolution) and Angelina Armani (ChromeSkull: Laid to Rest 2).  Recent cast additions include Grammy® award-winning musician Corey Taylor of Slipknot and Stone Sour, Felisha Terrell (“Teen Wolf”) and Brendon Beemer (“Days of Our Lives”).

Fear Clinic has attracted over five million viewers on FEARnet.com and the series earned two Streamy Awards for Best Sound Design and Best Visual FX for Hall’s company, Almost Human.   Since being added to On Demand as well as mainstream channels YouTube and Hulu, the show is now hailed as the one of the most highly-watched horror web series in history.

Written by Robert Hall and Aaron Drane who also serves as producer, Fear Clinic veers from the episodic series by exploring a number of phobias, all stemming from one common traumatic event involving the lead characters.  The story revolves around the cerebral nature of fear itself and its all-too-real manifestation inside people’s minds.

Mark B. Johnson serves as Producer on Fear Clinic. Executive Producers are Jon Sheinberg, Robert Hall, Larry Nealy, Jim Jacobsen and Sandra Siegal.  Gwen Osborne, Co-Producer and Brian Aspinwall serves as Co-Executive Producer.  Joseph White is Director of Photography and Jennifer Klide is Production Designer.

Special Visual Effects have been designed by industry icons Steve Johnson, Almost Human and Robert Kurtzman’s (co-founder of KNB) Creature Corps.  Vision Films will handle international sales for the film.
