The Business of Film: Building the Foundation for a Successful Filmmaking Career, Sept. 21

Join industry experts to learn how to build your filmmaking business beyond your current film, the importance of a clear vision and business plan, and more.

The Greater Cleveland Film Commission (GCFC) is partnering with the Greater Cleveland Urban Film Festival (GCUFF) for a special panel during the festival, The Business of Film: Building the Foundation for a Successful Filmmaking Career, presented by Neighbor Up.

ABOUT

Hey, Filmmakers…you’re an action-oriented creative type who loves making films, but have you thought about how to work more on your business than in it? Yes, filmmaking is a business. People who are looking to invest their time and/or treasure in this industry are looking to invest in YOU, the filmmaker and your overarching vision rather than just your product.

To ensure success for all involved, you must embrace a mindset that helps you clearly communicate your vision, put a compelling plan in place, and build a strong team. Having a great sizzle is also part of the mix!

By attending this special session at the 2024 GCUFF, you will:

  • Understand the importance of having the right mindset & clear vision to achieve your goals
  • Learn the importance of having a compelling business plan & other well thought out operating tools
  • Hear first-hand success stories from industry professionals about developing your network & key relationships
  • Discover how best to utilize Greater Cleveland Film Commission resources that can help get your film made & the path to potentially tap into the Ohio Motion Picture Tax Credit
