Intern Kevin Ng: A Day in the Life of a GCFC Intern

The past two months here as an intern for the Greater Cleveland Film Commission have been a blast! A memorable summer well spent! I had a wonderful time getting to learn various aspects of the film industry from all the amazing staff here. Truly, I am grateful for their time in teaching me.

All the trips with Mike on location scouting have been my favorite. With one of my favorite trips being a tour around Liminal Space Productions, Pixel Planet, and Shape Cleveland. The funny thing is when visiting some of these production companies was when I realized how interconnected the film world is sometimes. Upon meeting many new people this summer I learned how many mutual friends and familiar faces that other filmmakers know. I love hearing when new people I meet praise the work and the character of the friends I know. I always do the same in cheering on my fellow filmmakers as I am proud of them.

I think the cool part is knowing I have some sort of connection made with the GCFC that connects to the wider film industry in NE Ohio and beyond. The GCFC works hard behind the scenes to bring production here at home. I am excited to see movies being made here and see that at least someone I know will have worked on it!

I will cherish my time here and keep in touch with the GCFC. Thanks everyone!
