Hello, my name is Lynda Barnett, and I’m excited and hopeful to get my start in the film and entertainment industry. I am especially excited to be working with the Greater Cleveland Film Commission (GCFC) in order to help shine a light on the film industry in Northeast Ohio.
I have primarily worked in administrative roles and the customer service industry. I am enthusiastic about helping others while being passionate about the creative arts. I always wanted to be more active in the arts, and my interest started at a young age – from acting in plays and musicals, writing plays, anchoring for a college news station, stage managing, working for film festivals, and more.
I am an avid film and television enthusiast and have always been intrigued by the process of bringing those productions to life. I am currently watching the latest season of Black Mirror (Joan IS Awful! But aren’t we all, just a lil bit?). I also love shows and movies like Bridgerton, Severance, My Best Friend’s Wedding, Moulin Rouge, Shutter Island, Tick, Tick…Boom!, any good documentary, and the latest reality TV show. I’m also a fan of musical theatre. I am extremely corny and will happily sing along to musicals with anyone…if they want.
Through social media, I learned about the production assistant workshops hosted by the GCFC and decided to attend. That workshop has provided me with invaluable resources and I look forward to learning more. I enjoy working behind the scenes and aspire to work as a Production Assistant in film and television, with the possibility of becoming a script reader or script supervisor. Ultimately, I believe that film and television is an extremely powerful, creative tool that can be used to help make positive impacts in people’s lives and I want to be a part of that.
